Fender Michael Landau Stratocaster

We all know that Mike Landau is the man when it comes down to killer strat tones, so i was very surprised to see him put his name to a strat, knowing how fussy he is, it’s a sign of how good the Fender Michael Landau Stratocaster is!

The Fender Michael Landau Stratocaster is  really a fantastic instrument, I’d forgotten how good a Fender Stratocaster felt with a vintage radius, this neck just fits in your hand like a glove, don’t get me wrong, this isn’t no shred machine but it can handle all the blues-rock and Jeff beck abuse that you can throw at it

“World-famous session ace Michael Landau has played on hundreds of albums since the early 1980s, with artists as varied as Joni Mitchell, Seal, Michael Jackson, James Taylor, B.B. King, Pink Floyd and Miles Davis, to name only a few. He has also fronted several bands, including the Raging Honkies, Burning Water and, more recently, Renegade Creation with Robben Ford. With his own group, he continues to play the Fender Michael Landau Stratocaster guitar.

The Fender Michael Landau Stratocaster is based on Landau’s 1963 Stratocaster, with a hand-selected lightweight alder body, special “custom oval C” neck profile, custom hand-wound pickups and wiring, and a worn Fiesta Red over Three-color Sunburst nitrocellulose lacquer finish. Other features include a round-laminated dark rosewood fingerboard with a 7.25″ radius and 6105 frets, period-correct small headstock, five-way pickup switching, and custom vintage-style tremolo bridge. The guitar comes with a beautiful appearance and amazing sound, AN ABSOLUTELY GOOD GUITAR!

Fender Michael Landau

fender michael landau 2The Fender Michael Landau is a precise replication of Michael’s personal guitar. In fact, Michael was so impressed with this version that he owns one himself and has been using it almost exclusively ever since. The color fade and relic treatment are perfect, while the neck feels like a vintage guitar. It sounds beautiful and rings nice with a woody tone. This Fender Michael Landau is a very versatile instrument.

This special Fender Michael Landau guitar features include an alder body with thin lacquer finish, maple neck, rosewood fingerboard with 7.25″ radius and 6105 frets, handwound Stratocaster pickups with 5-way switching, aged-white knobs and vintage hardware. This detailed Custom Shop reproduction of a 1963 Strat was built utilizing original tooling and production techniques of the era. And its Relic finish treatment gives it the look of a well-traveled and played axe, although it is absolutely new in setup and playability.
